AFI Cotroceni

AFI Cotroceni has been inaugurated in October 2009 and is considered as the largest and most dominant shopping mall in Romania.

The shopping mall spreads over a leasable area of close to 90,000 sqm (240,000 sqm GBA), offers to its visitors a large entertainment area with multiple leisure options and a variety of over 350 shops from the leading local and international brands. The project is visited by an average of 50,000 shoppers per day (20 million per year) and offers 2,500 parking places both underground and above ground on 4 parking decks.
The mall is located in high proximity to the centre of Bucharest, in Cotroceni neighborhood, one of Bucharest’s most affluent and desirable residential districts, where the Presidential Palace, the Romanian Parliament and the “Politehnica University” are located.

The project is situated at the intersection of two of Bucharest’s main traffic arteries; Timisoara and Vasile Milea Boulevards, which are two of the busiest thoroughfares in Bucharest. Additionally, the project is located as well on the internal ring road of Bucharest, providing easy access from all parts of the City.

The mall enjoys excellent public transport connections including the Polytechnic Metro station located some 250 meters from the project (M3 line) and 12 different bus and tram lines that service the mall.
AFI Palace Cotroceni borders 2 of the largest and populated neighborhoods in Bucharest, Drumul Taberei and Militari with a total population of 500,000 people, in addition to over 900,000 residents living within 10 minutes driving time. AFI Palace Cotroceni has become the main entertainment and leisure destination in Bucharest, thus attracting visitors from all over Romania.

AFI Cotroceni is situated at the intersection at the crossroad of Vasile Milea Boulevard and Timisoara Boulevard, both being major traffic arteries ensuring limited driving times between the project, key residential areas, the city center, the Central Business District around Victoriei Square and the (inter)national airport.

The opening of the Basarab Bridge has improved the traffic flow connecting the mall directly to Bucharest City centre and the north through Victoria Square.

AFI Cotroceni enjoys excellent public transport connections with Polytechnic metro stop some 250 meters (M3 line) from the project in addition to 12 different bus and tram lines that service the mall.
A new Metro line currently under construction (Drumul Taberei – Piata Universitatii – Pantelimon), will provide an additional station, "Orizont", that will be located 200 meters from the mall, towards Timisoara Boulevard, thus making the project the only one in Bucharest to be served by 2 different metro lines and 2 separate metro stops from both entrances of the mall.
