Real estate developer AFI Europe has received its building permit for a second mall in Bucharest, for which works are slated to start this year or early 2014, and the developer also plans to build a 60,000 sqm office compound on the land of former stainless steel factory Inox.
AFI Europe Romania executive manager David Hay said the company got its building permit a few weeks ago and is currently negotiating financing.
“Of 28,000 square meters, we’ve already rented out 12,000 square meters and we want to open in 2014. Building could begin this year or at the beginning of next year,” he said.
The company is also planning to open a mall in Ploiesti, southern Romania, in October, and will continue works on a second building in its office compound in Bucharest. On the office segment, AFI Europe is also looking to build a compound on the land of former stainless steel factory Inox, where it initially planned to build a residential compound.
AFI Europe is a member of AFI Group and develops and manages several commercial and residential projects in Romania, Czech Republic, Serbia, Poland, Bulgaria, Germany, and Latvia.
